Ryan McElderry

Ryan McElderryRyan’s legal career has always been about helping others. During law school he had the opportunity to work with a prominent Kansas City injury law firm. Many of those who sought help had been injured, losing both time and money through no fault of their own. He came to realize that representing those injured by others was an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people who had been marginalized.

After graduating law school in 2013 from University of Missouri, Kansas City Ryan took a position as an associate attorney at a bankruptcy and immigration firm in Olathe Kansas. Always eager to expand his knowledge of the law and help people in the community, he enjoyed the work. Nonetheless, when an opportunity to join House Packard LLC arose, Ryan jumped at the chance. He’ll tell you that it’s good to be doing the same type of work that inspired him in law school.

Ryan grew up in a small town in Iowa where he was on the high school wrestling team. While in high school, he took trip to France where he developed a passion for foreign language studies and a love for art. He attended the University of Nebraska in Kearney and graduated in 2002 with a double major in Spanish and French. Shortly after graduation, Ryan packed his bags, sold all his things and left for Europe. He lived abroad for a year and half splitting his time between France and Belgium. While this experience was priceless, he realized that he wanted to live and work in the United States. He returned to Kansas City, Missouri and started his career. Unsatisfied with the work he was doing, he went to night school and earned his masters degree from the University of Kansas in foreign relations. That degree was a stepping stone to be able to enter law school and become an attorney. He did just that, enrolling in the University of Missouri Kansas City and receiving his Juris Doctor in 2013.

Ryan loves to read non fiction books specifically history books. Occasionally, he will read one written in Spanish or French to keep his skills sharp. He also enjoys traveling, and spending time with his two children, Ethan and Eva, his beautiful wife Jenny.
